J. ROBERT CHAMBERS  |  President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Chambers is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Chambers Energy Management and also serves on the firm's investment committee.  In addition to these roles, Mr. Chambers leads the firm's capital allocation process and assists with the investment team's execution of the firm's investment strategy. 

Previously, Mr. Chambers was employed by Lehman Brothers from 1994 to 2008, where he most recently managed the Lehman Energy Fund, a multi-billion dollar proprietary investment portfolio.  Prior to this, Mr. Chambers was Lehman's High Yield Bond Research Analyst covering the energy sector.  He was named by Institutional Investor magazine to its All-American Research Team six different times over the course of eight years as an analyst.  Before joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Chambers served in the energy investment banking department of Kidder, Peabody & Co. from 1989 to 1994.

Mr. Chambers holds a B.B.A. in Finance and Accounting, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University.



PHILLIP Z. PACE  |  Partner

Mr. Pace is a Partner of Chambers Energy Management and also serves on the firm's investment committee.  In addition to these roles, Mr. Pace participates directly in deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiations and ongoing monitoring of investments.  Mr. Pace has extensive experience in energy finance, including 19 years in oil and gas equity research.  Mr. Pace joined Lehman Brothers in September 2008 after his retirement from Credit Suisse as Vice Chairman of the energy investment banking group.  During his career on Wall Street, Mr. Pace was involved in over $50 billion in completed M&A transactions and over $10 billion in equity capital raised for the exploration and production sector in more than 50 distinct transactions.

Mr. Pace began his career in oil and natural gas equity research with Kidder, Peabody in 1986.  He continued as an analyst covering the exploration and production sector primarily for Credit Suisse until 2005 (from 1995 to 1998 he was employed by Morgan Stanley).  His primary responsibilities included coverage of U.S. companies, although he also was responsible for natural gas price forecasting and was involved in coverage of Canadian and emerging market companies.  Mr. Pace first received national recognition for his research in the 1992 Institutional Investor magazine poll.  He remained highly rated by the Institutional Investor and the Greenwich Associates’ Greenwich Share Leaders: U.S. Equity Analysts Research poll throughout his research career.  While at Credit Suisse, Mr. Pace became Head of Exploration and Production Investment Banking in 2005 and Co-Head of Energy Investment Banking in 2006.

Mr. Pace holds a B.B.A. in Finance, with honors, from Texas A&M University and he has the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.



GUY HOFFMAN  |  Partner

Mr. Hoffman is a Partner of Chambers Energy Management and also serves on the firm’s investment committee.  In addition to these roles, Mr. Hoffman participates directly in deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiations and ongoing monitoring of investments.  Mr. Hoffman has extensive energy and corporate finance experience including investing, corporate development, financial and strategic consulting, and mergers and acquisition activity.  Mr. Hoffman was employed by Lehman Brothers from 2003 to 2008, where he was an investment manager for the Lehman Energy Fund.

Prior to his time with the Lehman Energy Fund, Mr. Hoffman served as Vice President of Corporate Development for American Plumbing & Mechanical, Inc. from 1999 to 2003 and as a Director in Enron's Capital Management Group from 1997 to 1998.  Prior to Enron, Mr. Hoffman served as a Senior Manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Mr. Hoffman holds a B.B.A. in Accounting, cum laude, from Texas A&M University and an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.



R. KYLE KETTLER  |  Partner

Mr. Kettler is a Partner of Chambers Energy Management and also serves on the firm's investment committee.  In addition to these roles, Mr. Kettler participates in deal sourcing, due diligence, structuring, negotiations and ongoing monitoring of investments.  Mr. Kettler has substantial energy finance experience and has invested in a wide range of energy companies including, exploration and production, oilfield services, midstream and pipeline, refining, power generation and electric and gas utility companies.  His investment experiences have primarily been in the form of originated loans, high yield bonds, leveraged loans, distressed debt and private and public equities. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kettler was a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers working for the Lehman Energy Fund as investment manager and head trader.  Prior to his time with the Lehman Energy Fund, Mr. Kettler was with Kenmont Investments, focusing on energy investments for its credit opportunities fund.  From 2001 to 2005, Mr. Kettler was involved in the restructuring of $6.5 billion of Dynegy, Inc.’s debt, preferred stock and corporate obligations, as a Senior Director and Assistant Treasurer for Dynegy.  Mr. Kettler’s other work experiences include positions as a Manager in Enron’s Principal Investments Group from 1998 to 2001, and prior thereto, experience as an investment banking analyst for Kemper Securities and as an accountant with KPMG.

Mr. Kettler holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a Sord Scholar and won the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.  He holds the Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.



ROBERT L. HENDRICKS  |  Managing Director

Mr. Hendricks is a Managing Director of Chambers Energy Management and participates directly in deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiations and ongoing monitoring of investments. Mr. Hendricks has focused his career on energy finance, with experience primarily in investment banking and equity research. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Mr. Hendricks was a Director in the global oil and gas investment banking group of Credit Suisse. Mr. Hendricks joined Credit Suisse through its acquisition of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) in 2000, where he was an investment banking analyst within DLJ's oil and gas investment banking group.

During his tenure at Credit Suisse, Mr. Hendricks participated in over 75 distinct M&A, equity and debt transactions totaling more than $100 billion in value for the exploration and production sector in a bookrunner or financial advisor capacity. In addition, Mr. Hendricks was a member of Credit Suisse's U.S. exploration and production equity research team from late 2002 through mid-2005.

Mr. Hendricks holds a B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University, where he was a Robert E. Lee Honor Scholar.



MATTHEW B. OCKWOOD  | Managing Director

Mr. Ockwood is a Managing Director of Chambers Energy Management and participates directly in the firm's investment activities including transaction sourcing, structuring, due diligence, negotiations and ongoing monitoring of investments.  While at Chambers Energy, Mr. Ockwood has led or participated in the execution of more than two dozen distinct oil and gas transactions ranging from secured debt to common equity.  He takes an active role in managing relationships within the firm's credit portfolio and has served on the board of directors of several companies in the firm's structured equity portfolio.  His investment experience covers a range of domestic energy subsectors including upstream, downstream, and oilfield services.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ockwood was employed by Lehman Brothers where he worked in the Natural Resources investment banking group.  During his tenure at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Ockwood participated in numerous energy transactions including M&A, equity, and debt financings.

Mr. Ockwood holds a B.B.A in Finance, summa cum laude, and a Certificate in Leadership Study and Development from Texas A&M University.  While at Texas A&M, Mr. Ockwood served as the Commander of the Corps of Cadets and received the President's Award for leadership from Dr. Robert Gates.



BRANDON M. WILSON  | Managing Director

Mr. Wilson is a Managing Director of Chambers Energy Management and participates directly in the firm's investment activities including due diligence, structuring, negotiations and ongoing monitoring of investments.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wilson was employed as an associate by Kayne Anderson's Energy Private Equity Funds from 2009 to 2011, where he was actively involved in investing and monitoring more than 30 private exploration and production investments.  Previously, Mr. Wilson worked as an investment banking analyst with Credit Suisse’s energy group, where he participated in numerous financial advisory and underwriting engagements for a wide range of energy companies, including exploration and production, oilfield services and midstream companies.

Mr. Wilson holds a B.S. in Finance, magna cum laude, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.



CEDRIC W. BURGHER  | Vice President

Mr. Burgher is a Vice President of Chambers Energy Management and participates directly in the firm's investment activities including due diligence, structuring, negotiations and ongoing monitoring of investments. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Burgher was employed as a Manager of Business Development and Finance by Twin Eagle Resource Management from 2011 to 2017, where he was actively involved in evaluating acquisition and development projects in the midstream sector. Previously, Mr. Burgher worked as a risk analyst with Champion Energy Services, where he monitored hedge positions and pricing inputs for the retail energy sector.

Mr. Burgher holds a B.A. in Economics and History from Vanderbilt University.



ALEXANDER J. STAIT  | Associate

Mr. Stait is an Associate of Chambers Energy Management and participates directly in the firm’s investment activities including due diligence, structuring, negotiations, and ongoing monitoring of investments. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Stait worked as an investment banking analyst with Scotia Waterous where he focused on merger and acquisition transactions in the oil and gas industry.

Mr. Stait holds a B.B.A. in Finance with a minor in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.



ZACHARY C. HALL  |  Associate

Mr. Hall is an Associate of Chambers Energy Management and participates directly in the firm’s investment activities including due diligence, structuring, negotiations, and ongoing monitoring of investments. Mr. Hall was invited to join Chambers Energy Management upon his completion of an internship at the firm.

Mr. Hall graduated summa cum laude from Gordon College and holds a B.S. in Mathematics with a double major in Economics and a minor in Business Administration with a concentration in finance; he won the Economics and Business Leadership Award during his senior year. He served as a Presidential Fellow while attending Gordon College, where he worked directly for the Vice President for Finance and Administration. Mr. Hall also completed an internship at Hope Africa Collective in South Africa, where he developed and taught a financial literacy course.

Mr. Hall served for three years as a captain of the men’s varsity tennis team at Gordon College. During his athletic career he earned many accolades, including an Academic All-American honor for outstanding academic and athletic achievements.



ROBERT L. FINCH  |  Chief Operating & Financial Officer

Mr. Finch is the Chief Operating & Financial Officer of Chambers Energy Management and is responsible for the management of the firm and its investment funds.  Mr. Finch has substantial experience in finance and accounting, including experience managing the financial aspects of investment firms.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Finch held various positions in investment management, investment banking and accounting.

Mr. Finch holds a B.B.A. in Accounting, magna cum laude, as well as an M.S. in Finance from Texas A&M University.  He has the Certified Public Accountant and the Chartered Financial Analyst designations.



SAMUEL J. BARRETT  |  General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

Mr. Barrett is the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of Chambers Energy Management and is responsible for the legal matters and the compliance program of the firm and its investment funds. Mr. Barrett has substantial experience in SEC and FINRA compliance and reporting, general counsel duties, and public and private M&A and investment transactions.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Barrett was employed at Teakwood Capital as its Managing Director - Corporate Development and at Flowserve Corporation in various roles during his tenure.

Mr. Barrett is a member of the State Bar of Texas, and holds a J.D. from Southern Methodist University and a B.A. in English from Baylor University.



MARK D. REESE  | Senior Vice President — Accounting

Mr. Reese is the Senior Vice President - Accounting of Chambers Energy Management and is responsible for the accounting and investor reporting functions of the firm’s investment funds.  Previously, Mr. Reese was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior auditor, serving mainly oil and gas companies in the exploration and production and midstream sector.

Mr. Reese holds a B.B.A. in Accounting, magna cum laude, as well as an M.S. in Finance from Texas A&M University. Mr. Reese also has the Certified Public Accountant designation.
